MAD design concept is a floating museum, lofted off the ground. The structure reflects the surrounding environment, but also maintains the current use of the environment as a natural space for the citizens of the city.

Design consists of three levels. On a basic level, landscaped public spaces filter visitors around the site to various recreational spaces: amphitheatres, open sports field, place to meet. Intermediate level forms the museum itself, where the main functions such as exhibition spaces, cafes, restaurants and offices, hover above the ground. Five supports rise from the landscape like a tall stem, providing vertical access to museums.

At roof level, the further landscape is made, referencing natural surroundings once again the museum: the unique topography of the lake, green and wetlands, all publicly accessible, floating in the air. The roof is also home to solar panels, taking advantage of the warm climate in the city.

Outstanding museums, high above the middle of the lake, providing a view without interference from outside the city. At the same time, the exterior mirror reflects the town buildings, make sure it is very visible from all angles around the water. The museum will be a landmark, helping to attract attention, regeneration and visitors to Xiamen.
