Mango designed leaf like structure, top part is suitable to install tiny solar cells and also for collecting rainwater. As water runs down the Mango, it rotates a set of turbines. Millions of poor homes in Philippines – and a lot more around the world – in the dark because the metal roof block all light and no connection to electricity in informal settlements.
A student of MIT found that one-liter plastic bottle filled with water and bleach and then mounted on a metal roof is a simple way to light homes that have no electrical connectivity or natural lighting. It was called Solar Bottle Bulb.
