Kusto Lampshade with Dye Solar Cells
Kusto is an exclusive lampshade that looks like a decorative piece when unfolded, and turned into a lampshade when folded. In the daytime, the colored surface (Dye Solar Cells) of shade harnesses sunlight unfolded onto a window glass, and stored energy transformed into light at night.
Functional prototype realized with Solaronix, presented during the worldwide exposition (Sunny Memories).

‘Flower Power’ Solar Windows from Sony

Self-Energy Converting Sunglasses by Hyun-Joong Kim & Kwang-Seok Jeong
SIG, or “Self-Energy Conversion Sunglasses” is quite simple. The lenses have dye solar cells, collect energy and make it able to power your small device through the outlet in the back of the frame.
Dye solar cell is described by the designers of SIG as “cheap organic dye [used with] nanotechnology [providing] cheap but high energy efficiency.” Cheap, lightweight, and visible-ray penetrable.
