Taiwan’s Solar Powered Stadium
Toyo Ito has completed construction on Taiwan solar powered stadium upon a clear area of approximately 19 hectares, nearly 7 hectares has been reserved for the development of integrated public green spaces, bike paths, sports parks, and an ecological pond.
It will generate 100% of its electricity from photovoltaic technology (14,155 sq meter solar roof and 8,844 solar panels). It is able to provide enough energy to power two jumbo vision screens and the stadium’s 3,300 lights that illuminate the track, field and 50,000 seats.

SunFlowers by Mags Harries and Lajos Heder
Mags Harries and Lajos Heder designed an electric garden filled with sunflower solar collector. Installations located in Austin, Texas, and consists of 15 elements such as flowers that capture energy from the sun and light at night. Sunflowers produce enough energy during the day to power the lights at night and all the additional power is channeled into the box for credit. Lighting generated by a series of LEDs arranged in a flower. An unusual form of panels required they must be custom made. In addition, a special transparent blue gel squeezed into the panels to create shade for the bike path below, create a blue light.

French mobile phone company, Sagem, in collaboration with Puma, one of the famous brands in the world of sport. They made solar-powered 3G smartphone that feels suitable for sports lovers.
Like most other smartphones, this device has a resolution of 240×320 pixels. Puma Phone features solar cells located at the back of the phone. Uniquely, users will get points when ‘hanging out’ of this phone. Accumulated points can then be converted into prizes at Puma Store.
As a phone aimed to sports lovers, Puma Phone has features such as: Analog Stopwatch, Pedometer, Yachting Compass, GPS run tracker and GPS bike Speedo. As a result, this phone will be very compatible when paired with an athlete.
